A Mac, You Say?

heroSo, now that I’m becoming somewhat seasoned in this world of editing…well, ok “seasoned” may be a bit much. I’m now starting to touch the salt and pepper of what this world holds. In order to fully get my feet wet, I need a reliable computer because the stone-aged, coal powered one I’m subjected to using now just isn’t cutting it. See, I’m in the stage of figuring out what specs I need to run editing software and video creating software, primarily.

If I can get a good laptop that can effortlessly do this, I may become the greatest junior editor in the south! While that may be pushing it – having a reliable computer with these capabilities will totally help me do what I need to gleefully be on my road to success in this media biz. I believe I need a Macbook because that’s the only kind of computer the big time editors use. And it’s the only kind of computer we use at my Marietta Video Productions internship.

I may need to look into financing one in order to pull this off. But I’m not too sure how that works. I’d like to find a deal where I can get no interest for at least year. I’ve been saving my money to get to this point. Now I can at least entertain the thought of actually purchasing one. I know that the some of the screens are a bit miniature for extended hours of editing, so I’ll have to invest in an external monitor.

Choosing one of those may be an entirely different subject. Anyway, this weekend may be the time to physically start looking at Macbooks and let the sales reps know exactly what I’m looking for and what I need. I’ll never know until I actually get started. I’m just so excited to be able to finally make this potential purchase.

I’ve always wanted to learn how to animate characters and draw my own characters to animate. Plus, being able to create and edit various videos to sharpen my skills, while continuously learning about things I enjoy doing is a win-win to me. Like I said, I’ll be shopping around this weekend, so I’ll keep you posted on what I discover and more excitingly, how close I am to affording this potentially awesome machine of creativity.
