Five Reasons to Consider Video Production as a Career
By Claudius Antonio Moore

As a person that craves the excitement of being out in the world and not stuck in a cubicle of monotony, I have come to realize that a career in video production is what I have been searching for. Recently, I was granted the incredible opportunity to become an employee of Marietta Video Productions. Not only do I get to work with an experienced team of people and learn vast amounts of useful information on the process of creating visual media, I am also able to acquire many useful skills, while being encouraged to explore my creativity. With this, I would assume you too are interested in the video production industry because you are taking time out of your day to read this article and I thank you! So, at this time, I would like to share five reasons on why you should consider video production as a career:

    1.  Creativity: Creativity is always welcomed and encouraged. You are able to actively use your imagination and apply your ideas to various projects, which allow you to add your own personal stamp, so to speak, on them. There are no limits to what you can accomplish when you utilize the depths of your imagination. In addition, the sense of accomplishment that is felt when a project is complete is unlike any other, especially when your creative ideas take flight through the medium of video production.

    1. Enjoyment: How many people can honestly say that they enjoy their day job and love their career? I don’t know about your peers, but in my experience, those individuals are few and far in between. Traveling to different locations, working on various topics, having the ability to operate hi-tech filming and editing technology are just a few exciting facts about being employed in the video production industry. Also, having a consistent feeling of satisfaction is a true reward in itself that can only be achieved through being a part of something you genuinely care about.

    1. Growth: In today’s world, job stability is a crucial factor that determines which career you choose to dedicate your time, money, and attention to. Fortunately, the industry of video production is forecasted to continuously expand in the years to come. People don’t just use visual media as a form of entertainment in today’s world. No, instead businesses use it to get their messages across to their target audiences more efficiently and effectively. It is also a useful tool in training employees to meet company standards. Additionally, parents use it to educate their children and technology, such as interactive videos, that are available on iPads and tablets, are important substitutes for text books and other learning materials.

    1. Trends: Popular trends like internet videos provide companies an efficient medium to clearly and effectively advertise their goods and services, which then attract more clients. These internet videos are becoming a staple of success to many businesses around the world because instead of paying to advertise on the television, they can afford to post videos on their website for less money, so they can spark the interest of people that are serious about doing business with them.

  1. Longevity: This final reason ties in with “Growth” and possibly “Trends” because being a part of a never-ending industry such as video production, could guarantee you a permanent spot in the business. Taking the initiative to cross-train yourself into becoming an indispensable asset would prove vital to your career and give you the skills and abilities that are necessary to adapt to the constantly changing environment of the industry.

So, reader, I hope this article has been inspiring and encouraging to you, so that you will be excited and motivated to pursue an amazing future in the world of video production, if you so choose.
